Services for Fred Greathouse, 83, Tucson, Ariz., formerly of Davenport, will be 1 p.m. Friday at Hodgson Funeral Home, Rock Island. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, Silvis.

Visitation is 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Memorials may be made to the Heart Association.

Mr. Greathouse died Sunday at home.

He was born in Springfield, Mo. He married Hazel Rutledge in 1944 in Kahoka, Mo. She died in 1976.

He was a salesman at Great Western Supply Co., Davenport.

He was an Army veteran of World War I. He was a member of American Legion Post 548, Walcott, Iowa; Elks Lodge 26, Kansas City Mo.; Loyal Order of Moose 190, Rock Island; and Fraternal Order of Eagles 235, Davenport.

Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Schrempf, Moline, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

The former V. Joyce Greathouse was born Dec. 5, 1921, in Bennett, Iowa, the daughter of Sam and Ferne Ayers Jackson and was adopted at age nine by Fred Greathouse. She married Fred H. Schrempf Sept 1, 1940, in Missouri.
