Anstis Eliza Neve was born Sept. 28, 1900 in Pierson, Mich. where she grew up and went to school. She later graduated from Howard City High School. She was married June 29, 1935 in Ludington to Roy A. Chilberg and the couple farmed their home on North Amber Road, Amber Township for many years. They moved to Baywood Village in 1978.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are one brother, Page Neve of Pierson; two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Beduhn of Pierson and Mrs. Jenny Gleason of Belding; two foster children, George Soneral of Johnson Road and Miss Helen Soneral of Long Beach, Calif.; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Nellie Stowe of Southfield and Mrs. George (Clara) Chilberg of Glenview Court. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Emma (Eastwood) Neve; three sisters, Mrs. Sarah Thurber, Mrs. Helen Shannon and Agnes Neve, and three brothers, Alfred, Charles and Frank. The funeral for Mrs. Chilberg will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Emanuel Lutheran Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Wayne Buskirk and Intern Dennis Frank. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may begin calling at the Dorrell Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Tuesday. The family will be present to receive friends on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorials to Emanuel Lutheran Church.
