Ele, Viola M. Age 83, of Hobart, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at home. She was born on November 6, 1929 in North Judson to Clyde W. and Beulah G. Miller. She was a longtime area resident and a member of First Baptist Church of Hobart and former member of Fraternal Order of Eagles #2498. Viola enjoyed sewing and will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. Viola is survived by her son, Ernest L. (Nancy) Ele of Hobart; daughter, Patricia (Dennis) Crouch of Longwood, FL; 6 grandchildren, Tina, Ernie, Shayne, Shanna, Erica, and Donald; 6 great-grandchildren, Tyler, Emily, Eric, Mikey, Zachary, and Sydney; 3 brothers, Paul (Beverly) Neyhart of IN, Kenneth (Carol) Neyhart of TX, Wayne (Jeanette) Neyhart of Lake Station; 3 sisters, Eleanor (Clyde) Hardesty of Hebron, Sharon Chessor of Portage, Frances Neeley of Rensselaer; sister-in-law, Roberta Miller; other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest L. Ele, Jr.; sons, Larry and Matthew; daughter, Sandra Wright; brothers, Clyde and William; sisters, Thelma, Irene, and Wanda. A funeral service for Viola will be Monday, August 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., with Pastor Richard Brown officiating.
