Vivian Christine Coffey Allred Feb. 8, 1924 - Aug. 15, 2013 Mrs. Vivian Christine Coffey Allred, 89, passed away on Thursday, August 15 at her home surrounded by her family and loved ones. Mrs. Allred was born on February 8, 1924 in Amherst, VA. to Leonard Coffey and Elsie "MaMaw" Sale Dunnavant. Vivian moved to Winston-Salem when she was 17, and upon her arrival met the love of her life, Grady T. Allred Sr. Vivian and Grady were married on November 30, 1945. Mrs. Allred served as the co-founder and Chairman of the Board of K&W Cafeterias, Inc. Vivian dedicated her life to God, her family, and the continued success of K&W. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 39 years Grady T. Allred, a daughter Shirley Christine, and son Gary Thomas, a grandson Thomas Bailey, and a nephew Ricky Johnson. She is survived by her sisters, Phyllis Johnson of Suwanee, G.A, and Betty Jane Bumgardner; a son Donnie Allred, seven grandchildren; Natalie and Todd Smith, Derek Duggins, Leslie and Kevin Yates, Dax and Nicole Allred, Julie and Chuck Long, Jordan and Stephanie Tucci, and Bill and Molly Allred, seven great-grandchildren; Taylor, Carson, Cameron, Rachel, Peyton, Olivia, and Clara, four nieces and nephews; Michael Bumgardner, Judy B. Holder, Kathy Conner, and Karen Johnson. A visitation will be held at Salem Funeral Home Reynolda Rd. chapel on the corner of Polo Rd. and Reynolda Rd. on Sunday, August 18, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Becks Baptist Church on Monday, August 19 at 11:00 a.m. There will be a private graveside following the service.
