Leo S. Stratman, 91, of Evansville, passed away Friday, February 17, 2017 at the Evansville Protestant Home. He was born July 13, 1925 to the late Adam and Susan (Neuhausel) Stratman.

He worked for over 35 years in sales and service for National Cash Register. He was a Marine Corp Veteran of WWII, fighting in the Guadalcanal Campaign. He was a former member of the VFW, American Legion, and Knights of Columbus. Leo was a long time member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church where he received the Bruté Society Award. He was very active in the Old Time Auto Club, and the Model A Ford Club. Leo's life hobby was rebuilding and tinkering with classic cars, especially Model A's, from the frame up.

Leo is survived by his wife of 31 years, Harriett (Metcalfe) Stratman of Evansville; nieces and nephew, Brenda Ashley, Dixie Scales, Lily Helfrich, and Kelly Diefenbach; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Clara Diefenbach; and brothers, Oscar Stratman, and Eddie Stratman.

Visitation will be 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville.

Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home and will continue at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 211 NW 3rd St., Evansville, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, with Father Gene Vogler officiating.

Entombment will be in St. Joseph Mausoleum, Evansville.
