Robert "Bob" Lee Bevers, 63, a resident of Aztec since 1980, passed from this life peacefully early Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2005, with his family by his side. Bob was born Jan. 20, 1942, in Carlsbad, the son of John and Nellie (Strawn) Bevers. Bob was employed with the Farmington Schools as a transportation director.
Bob is survived by his wife, Kim Bevers, of Aztec; sons, Robert L. Bevers Jr. and wife, Judi, also of Aztec, Kevin Bevers and wife, Tonya, of Riverside, Calif., and Charles Miller of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughters, Kelli Lopez, Kristi Brooks and husband, Jeremy, all of Aztec, and Cassandra Miller of Albuquerque; brother, Ben Bevers and wife, Joyce, of Lake Tahoe, Nev.; sisters, Glenys Moore of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Valerie Shaw of Madill, Okla.; seven grandchildren, Natasha, Amanda, Leigh Ann, Kyle, Robert, Tanner, and Keaton; and many dear friends.
At Bob's request, no viewing will be held. Friends and family are invited to Bob's funeral service at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at Bethel Baptist Church, 201 Heiland Road in Aztec, with Pastors Leroy Montoya and Bob Schlauger officiating. Burial will follow at Aztec Community Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Robert Bevers Jr., Jeremy Brooks, Kevin Bevers, Charles Miller, John Shaw, and Ben Bevers.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Bob's memory to San Juan Oncology, 800 W. Maple St. in Farmington, or the Robert L. Bevers Scholarship Fund at San Juan College Foundation, 4601 College Blvd., Farmington, NM 87402.
