Deaths, Mary C. Hassell

Graveside services for Mrs. Mary C. Hassell, 94, will be 11 a.m. today in the Forest Park Cemetery with Rev. Robert Turnipseed officiating. Mrs. Hassell died Saturday night in the Park Haven Nursing Home.

She was born Nov. 17, 1893, in Texline, Texas, to John and Mary Schmitz. She married William Lee Hassell Sr. in 1916 in Gainesville.

Mrs. Hassell is survived by one son, Tom Hassell of Dallas; two daughters, Mrs. Martha Castleberry of Greenville and Mrs. Bobbie Thompson of Lake Jackson; 20 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1950; a son, Lee Hassell in 1987; and two daughters, Mary Lee Hassell in 1946 and Callie Ann Kuczaj in 1962.

Services are under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.
