Ann Marie (Mitchell) McCue, formerly of Norwell and Marshfield, died peacefully with her children by her side, Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013. Her best friend and husband, Gerard A. Gerry McCue, predeceased her in 2005. She is survived by the children she loved, Jane McCue Magner and her husband George of Worcester, Marianne McCue of North Adams, Kirsten Toomey and her husband Paul of West Roxbury, John McCue and his wife Cathy of Hanover and Elizabeth Lavoie wife of Matthew of Worcester; as well as the grandchildren she adored, Jennifer McCue of North Adams, Madison and Jillian Toomey of West Roxbury, Ryan and Conner McCue of Hanover, Sarah and Caitlin Lavoie of Worcester; and three great-grandchildren. Ann was predeceased by her brother, John Dowling of Feeding Hills, and sister, Teresa McKinnon of North Little Rock, Ark. She leaves many nieces and nephews. Born in Chicopee, Ann was the daughter of John Mitchell and Mary (Boland) Mitchell. She graduated from Commerce High in Springfield and attended Bay Path and Smith College before working for the Wall Street Journal. Ann was active in the communities where she lived, acting as vice president for the South Shore Arts & Humanities Committee, chairman of the Marshfield Arts & Humanities Committee, Enrichment Coordinator of the South River School and also had a business, Beechwood Interiors. Ann was an avid reader of contemporary literature, loved gardening, gourmet cooking and interior designing. Anns funeral Mass will be held Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, at 10 a.m. at St. Theclas Church, 145 Washington St., Pembroke, with a burial to follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, in Bourne, where she will be laid to rest with her husband, Gerry. Arrangements by the Shepherd Funeral Home, Pembroke. In lieu of flowers, donations in Anns memory can be made to the Autism Resource Center of Central Massachusetts, 71 Sterling St., West Boylston, MA 01583, 508-835-4278.
