Laura was the daughter of James M. & Elsie ( Lockwood) Blades. She married Thompson B. Stelle on 11 Feb 1875. After he died in 1906, she married Joseph W. Moorman on 5 March 1908. She was the mother of Illinois Governor John H. Stelle and died at Garfield Park Hospital in Chicago.
