Mae Rosalie (Enquist) Hendrickson
1908-1990

Mae Hendrickson died December 4, 1990 in Polson, Montana after a long illness. She was born November 7, 1908 in Clitherall, Minnesota to Bernard and June Enquist, and came to White Sulphur Springs, Montana as a child but grew up in the Dutton, Montana area. Mae married Martin Holland ca1928 and they had a child, Bernice June Holland.
Mae married Ray Randall Johnson in White Sulphur Springs November 14, 1931. They lived at the Coleman Brown Johnson Ranch (Butte Creek, Meagher County Montana) until 1936 when they moved to Polson, Montana. Mae and Ray had three children, Ray Randall "Bud" Johnson, Jr., Verla Lucille Johnson, and Eula Mae Johnson. She was Lake County, Montana Treasurer for many years and belonged to the Order of Eastern Star and Rebecca Lodge. After the death of her husband, Ray, she married Henry Hendrickson and lived in Polson for many more years. For a while, she lived in Townsend, Montana but eventually went back to Polson.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Martin, Ray, and Henry. Survivors include one son Ray Johnson Jr., Whitefish; three daughters Verla Martin, Townsend; Eula Mae Turnage, Helena and Bernice Peters, Polson. Also surviving are one brother Larry Enquist, Great Falls and one sister Shirley Morris, Great Falls. Nine grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren also survive her. Mae was a sister-in-law to Chester Allen Johnson, Ralph Ward Johnson, and Ely Johnson.
