Even though Junior was my great-uncle, I do not remember him. However, I do remember how much my father (who was a dead ringer for Junior as a young man) and his sister thought of him. I remember seeing photos of Junior, and he was a handsome man. He was an excellent musician, a trait shared by his brother Claude and his son Johnny Boyce. A native of Hickman County, he moved to Nashville, where, if I remember correctly, he worked for the H.G. Hill grocery stores as a butcher.
