Ella was the daughter of James Nicholas Collins and Amanda Jane Pyle. She married Arthur Franklin Swindell on February 12, 1896 in Grant Co., Ind.

MRS. SWINDELL DIES AT HOME
Last rites for Mrs. Emma Swindell, seventy, life resident of Grant county, will be conducted at 2 pm. Friday at 14 South Adams Street. She died at 3:30 pm. Tuesday at her home, 2124 South Brownlee Street, where she suffered a stroke of paralysis on Nov. 1. She had been in a critical condition since that time.

Rev. Milo Bowsman, pastor of the George Street Wesleyan Methodist church, will be in charge of the services.
Burial will be in the Park Cemetery at Fairmount.

Mrs. Swindell, born in Liberty township, was the widow of Frank Swindell, who died in 1941. She was a member of the George Street church.

Surviving are three daughters; Mrs. Marguerite Forst, Andrews, Mrs. Viola Rinehart and Mrs. Josephine Wilson, Marion; two sons, James W., in Anderson, and Harry, Marion; one sister, Mrs. J. C. Albertson, Fairmount; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
