She was born Jan. 9, 1914, in Marmaduke. She was a homemaker and of the General Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jasper William Essman; seven brothers, Curtis, William, Marvin, Chester, Lester, James and Charles Huckabay; four sisters, Beatrice Batten, Anna Jordan, Vivian Hoggard and Vesta England, and one granddaughter, Josie Essman.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Betty Essman of Rector; two daughters, Pat Reynolds of Sikeston, Mo., and Carolyn Essman of Steele, Mo., six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 27, at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with Mark Book officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector with Mitchell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Billy Reynolds, Danny Essman, Rick Melton, Corkey Lindsey, Eddie Ashmore and Donald Huckabay.
