Seaman 2/c U.S. Navy Veteran, World War II-Mr. Clyde Cufaude, Father-in-Law of Mrs. Vinnie Sue {Rockhold} Cufaude, died at his residence on 8-11-2013.
He is the son of Mr. Dan C. & Mrs. Rose {Hubbard} Cufaude of Mason City, Illinois, and the husband of Mrs. Mardelle {Corson} Cufaude of Mason City, and they were married in Mason City on December 29, 1946.
He is the father of one son, Mr. Daniel A. {Miss Vinnie} Cufaude of Canton, Illinois, and three daughters, Mrs. Roseanne {Jim} Drechsel of Plano, Texas, Mrs. Cathryn {John} Rechner of Downers Grove, Illinois, and Mrs. Amy {Steve} Becker of Carlyle, Illinois, and survived by one brother, Mr. Howard Cufaude of Evansville, Wisconsin, and 22 Grandchildren, 10 Great-Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents & one brother Harold Cufaude, December 4, 2005.
Mr. Cufaude is a 1942 graduate of Mason City H.S., and enlisted with the Navy during World War II, and served in the Pacific Theater of Operations, and returned to the area and seek employment with Caterpillar Inc. in which he retired, and serve with the Jackson-Keen Post 496 of the American Legion, and serve in the Methodist Church.
Awards: American Campaign Medal, Pacific Campaign Medal with Two Battle Stars, Navy Good Conduct Medal, WWII Victory Medal, Ruptured Duck Pin.
