Clarence Kenneth "Ken" Graves, 80, passed away peacefully having succumbed to ocular melanoma on August 11, 2013 at Park Bend Health Center. Born on May 22, 1933, in Hico, TX to Wysong and Mamie Graves. He lived most of his life in the Texas cities of Hico, Austin, Port Aransas, and Gonzales.
Ken was all about family, friends, and community. He served his country as an aircraft technician in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged in March of 1961. He retired from the US Postal Service in June 1988 after nearly 35 years as a letter carrier and was a member of the Letter Carriers Association for more than 50 years.
Ken served as an AARP certified driving safety instructor for many years and also as an active member of the Loyal Order of Moose. He also enjoyed reading and time spent with friends.
Ken is preceded in death by his wife Bettye Sue Graves and his parents Wysong and Mamie Graves.
He is survived by his brother Jerry Graves and sister-in-law Jean Graves of Austin, Texas, the mother of his children Charlotte Graves of Cedar Park, Texas, son Alan Graves and his wife Tami of Largo, Florida, daughter Susan Meisetschlaeger of Cedar Park, Texas, son Steven Graves and his partner Steve Nall of Dallas, Texas, and so very many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, close friends, and extended family.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Colonial Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas, followed by a graveside services at three o'clock in the afternoon, at Hico Cemetery, Hico, Texas.
