Albert L. Hilgenberg, 86, of Ironton, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at his residence. He was born October 9, 1926 in Coal Grove, Ohio, the son of the late Lewis and Bethel (Rowe) Hilgenberg.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruth E. (Rowe) Hilgenberg.

He attended Coal Grove Schools and was a U.S Army Veteran and served in WWII. He is a retired Brick Mason from the Ironton Coke Plant and was a member of Jeffersonville Missionary Baptist Church.

He was also preceded in death by
four brothers, Earl Hilgenberg, Carl Joseph Hilgenberg, Harry Hilgenberg and Donald Ray Hilgenberg;
six sisters, Betty Thornton, Hilda Adams, Gladys Wilson, Ruth Delawder, Eva Taylor and Wilma Ferris.

He is survived by
one son, Phillip (Linda) Hilgenberg of Cincinnati, OH;
two daughters, Janie (Robert) Boso of Grove City, OH and Ellen (Steve) Kahrmann of Columbus, OH;
one sister, Phyllis Dornon of Pearcy, AR;
four grandchildren, Jeremy Hilgenberg, Kevin (Katie) Hilgenberg, Courtney Kahrmann and Paul Kahrmann;
two great grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Hailey.

Funeral service at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, 518 South 6th Street, Ironton, OH with Bro. Roger Peirce officiating. Burial in Woodland Cemetery.
