Illness of Year Fatal to County Native - Funeral Friday
Mrs. Susie Temple, 80, of 1444 Pearl Street, the wife of William J. Temple, died at 11:10 o'clock this morning at the county hospital. She had been in ill health a year and was hospitalized a month ago.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 o'clock Friday afternoon at Barkes and Inlow Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. Stanley Mugridge. Burial will be made at Garland Brook Cemetery. Casket will be open at the funeral home after 1 o'clock Thursday afternoon.
Survivors are the husband; a son, Louis G. Temple of Redding, California, a daughter, Mrs. A. R. Shelton of Monticello; two sisters, Mrs. Fred W. Patterson and Mrs. Michael Kirschbaum, both of Columbus; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Temple was a member of First Baptist Church and Dorcas Sunday school class of the church. She was the daughter of the late Lynch and Sarah Boll Lyke, born Aug. 24, 1877, in this county. Mr. and Mrs. Temple had lived all their married life in Columbus. They were married on May 12, 1897, and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last year.
