William Parker Killed at Ranch on Red Mesa - An accident occurred on Red Mesa yesterday afternoon about 3 o'clock, which cost the life of William Parker, aged 61, a pioneer resident of the San Juan basin. Mr. Parker and his son-in-law, "Sol" Exon, were riding on a load of hay, when their team suddenly became frightened and started to run, throwing Mr. Parker to the ground. Both wheels of the heavily-loaded wagon ran over his body from the hips to shoulders, crushing him so badly, he died an hour later from the injuries sustained. Arrangements have been made to bring the remains to town tonight. The funeral will be held from the Ames and Bradford undertaking parlors tomorrow, at an hour to be announced later.

The body is to be laid to rest in Greenmount Cemetery, beside a son of the deceased, who passed away a number of years ago. Mrs. Exon, the daughter, is the only surviving member of the family.
