Kathleen "Kit" Hornbarger of Edgewood died June 25 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air. She was 80.
Born in Banner, Va., she was the daughter of James K. and Martha Foster Comer and was the wife of the late Charles Edward Hornbarger, Sr.
A resident of Edgewood since 1942, she loved gardening and crocheting. Her grandchildren were the loves of her life, family members said.
Mrs. Hornbarger is survived by two sons, Joe Hornbarger Sr. of Edgewood and Donald Brown and his wife, Terry, of Smyrna, Del.; a daughter, Katherine Hoffman Mitzel of Edgewood; three grandchildren , Melanie Bon, Rebekka Hornbarger and Joe Hornbarger Jr., all of Edgewood; and a great-grandson, Aaron Stansbury of Edgewood.
Services will be at McComas Funeral Home in Abingdon today (June 30) at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Cheryl S. Fields officiating. Interment will be in Cokesbury United Methodist Church Cemetery in Abingdon.
Pallbearers will be Charles Hornbarger, Charles Shipley, Brad Pillar, Larry Daughtry, Bill McCullough and James Hornbarger.
