George Alexander was born in Penn. He was one of six children born to George Jones and Margaret Thomas ALexander, who with their family came to the United States about 1852. They settled first in Streator, Illinios, Here he grew to manhood and on the 23rd of December 1882, he was united in marriage to Charlotte Baldwin.
The couple continued to live in the place of their marriage until 1885 when they moved to Spring Valley. Here they have resided watching the city grow from a cluster of houses about No1 mine until it has reached the present fine population.
Children: Elizabeth died abt 1905
