She was born on the 29th of July, 1861 at Portsmouth, Ohio. In 1869 she came with her parents to Nebraska, where they established their home near Centerville in Lancaster county. Later they decided to make their home on a farm near Crete.
On the 20th of October 1881 she was united in marriage with Christian Wielage, who departed from this life in 1923. To this union were born nine children. Anna, the oldest of the children, while still in her prime of life, preceded the mother in death.
Mrs. Wielage was for many years a faithful member of the German Congregational church and the Ladies' Aid Society. Her loyalty and devotion to the Christian ideals manifested themselves in her many years of faithful service to her family and the community.
She is survived by her six sons, Henry, John, William, Frederick, Christian, and Frank; two daughters, Mrs. George Wells and Mrs. Emil Zelenka; three brothers, Henry and Frank Sieck of Lincoln and Fred Sieck of Martell; one sister, Mrs. Henry Ortman of Cedar Rapids, Nebraska and 25 grandchildren and many friends.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 o'clock on Friday, May 1 at the German Congregational church with Rev. Philip Reich officiating. Interment was in Crete Riverside Cemetery.
