Dorothy Jean Pate, 76 of Columbus, MS passed away Sunday, August 11, 2013 at Aurora Australis Nursing Home, Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be Monday, August 12, 2013 from 6-8 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at 4 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. James Gardner officiating. Interment will be at Living Faith Tabernacle Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Pate was born March 25, 1937 in Tylertown, MS to the late Joseph and Ruth Ann Summerall Boyd. She attended Living Faith Tabernacle Church and loved taking care of her children and grand-children. Mrs. Pate enjoyed cooking and keeping a clean house. She also enjoyed fishing, taking trips, country music and was an “I Love Lucy” fan.

Mrs. Pate is survived by her husband- M.C. Pate, Columbus, MS; children- William Curtis (Robin) Pate, Waynesboro, MS, David (Carmen) Pate, Columbus, MS, John Pate, Ellisville, MS, Rebecca Oakes, Caledonia, MS, Mary Marcum, Ada, OK, and Betty (Jonathan) Pruitt, Enterprise, MS; 16 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
