Died 4 p.m. Thursday, June 18, 1987, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Many and resident of Baton Rouge. She was a retired Ethyl Corp. employee. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, and 9 a.m. until religious services, 10 a.m. Monday, conducted by Dr. Lonnie M. Sibley. Burial in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by husband, James J. Bergin Sr.; a daughter, Patricia Rutherford Smith, College Station, Texas; mother, Mrs. J.M. Abington, Many; three sisters, Mary Agnes Byrd and Bobbie Kratz, both of Many, and Edith Middleton, Baton Rouge; three grandchildren, Leah Smith Tyner, San Antonio, Texas, Scott and Angela Smith, both of College Station; a son-in-law, William B. Smith, College Station; seven step-children, George A. Cason, Dallas, Texas, Rosemary Frederic, Lafayette, Sister Anne Bergin and James J. Bergin Jr., both of New Orleans, Katherine Myer and Michael Bergin, both of Baton Rouge, and Joseph Bergin, Atlanta, Ga. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Baton Rouge.
