SHEETS, CLIFFORD ANDREW: Clifford A. Sheets, 84, of Lebanon, died Thursday afternoon, Aug. 11, 2005, in St. John's Hospital-Springfield. He was born Nov. 17, 1920, in Collinsville, Okla., to Andrew Samuel Sheets and Rosa Milford Sheets, who preceded him in death. He also was preceded in death by his stepmother, Maxine Sheets; a son, Larry Don Sheets; a brother, Bob, and a sister, Marie. On Feb. 1, 1943, he married Faye Y. Lowery. He was a licensed funeral director and was employed by Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon for the last 52 years.
He was a longtime active member of Union Mission Church, where he served in many capacities and as a deacon. Survivors include his wife, Faye, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, the Rev. Gary and Betty Sheets, of Lebanon; a daughter and son-in-law, Janell and Bill Owens, of Lebanon; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren; four brothers, Stanley Sheets, of the state of Washington; John Sheets, of Competition and Kenny and Mike Sheets, both of Lebanon; two sisters, Kay Cruz, of Lebanon; Lou Bayles, of Sullivan; also several nieces and nephews. Services for Clifford A. Sheets will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14, 2005, in the Holman-Howe Chapel with the Revs. Don Anderson, Keith Garrison and Craig Perry officiating. Burial will be in McBride Cemetery, near Competition, under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home. A memorial has been established to the Union Mission Church Building Fund and may be made through Holman-Howe Funeral Home.
