Vernon J. Anderson
Vernon J. Anderson, 89, died December 24, 1999 at Pink Lake Nursing Home, Greenville, Florida. He was born April 25, 1910 in rural Stockholm, a son of Charles and Agnes Anderson. He attended Pine Creek rural school. He enjoyed working several years in grocery stores in Plum city, and Julian's Store in Maiden Rock.

In 1940, Vernon married Verona Schruth of Pepin. He worked several years as a licensed plumber with John Schruth. After moving to Milwaukee in 1951, he worked at Allis Chalmers and Milwaukee Road R.R. until retiring. They moved to Greenville, FL in 1979.

Vernon is survived by his wife, Verona; one son, Donald Anderson; one daughter, Vada DeWerd; four grandsons, Scott, Mark, Eric DeWerd and Karl Anderson; one granddaughter, Karen Anderson; nephews, Craig, Clair and Curtis Anderson of Red Wing, MN; nieces, Judy Hemp of Hastings, MN, Dianne Anderson of Ellsworth; several great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Agnes Anderson; two brothers, Harry and Ardie Anderson; one sister, Ruth Niner of Red Wing, MN.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday December 27, 1999 at Beggs Funeral Home in Madison, Florida with Marcus Zillman officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery Greenville FL. Arrangements by Beggs Funeral Home, Greenville FL.
