Dr. Charles Blease Hill, 71, of Moncks Corner, SC, a retired principal at Berkeley High School, died Friday evening in a Charleston hospital.

His funeral will be 12:00 Noon Monday, August 12, 2013, in the First Baptist Church, Moncks Corner. Interment will follow in Biggin Cemetery. The family will receive friends at DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER, from 5:00 until 7:00 PM this Sunday. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Hollings Cancer Center, 86 Jonathan Lucas St., Charleston, SC 29425.

Dr. Hill was born July 12, 1942, in Moncks Corner, SC, a son of C. Blease Hill and Harriet Duke Hill. He was a graduate of Berkeley High School, and received his bachelor's degree from Furman University, his masters degree from Western Carolina, and his doctorate from the University of SC. Dr. Hill served on the Executive Committee of the SC Vocational Assoc., the Executive Committee of the SC High School League, and the SC Commission on Secondary Education of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. He was past president and secretary of the Four A Conference of the SC High School League, past president, secretary, and treasurer of the SC Association of Distributive Education Teachers, and past secretary of the Moncks Corner Lions Club.

He was also a member of the National Association of Secondary School Principals and the First Baptist Church of Moncks Corner. Throughout his 43 year career, Dr. Hill served as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and career specialist. He enjoyed playing the organ and piano and gardening, but most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. Dr. Hill was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Hill.

Surviving are, his wife, Patricia Anne Amerson Hill; a daughter, Danielle H. Mroczkowski and her husband, Victor, of Daniel Island; a son, Bert Haselden and his wife, Monique, of Huntsville, AL; a brother, Jimmy Hill and his wife, Carol, of Pinopolis; and four grandchildren, Remy, Amerson, Aleks, and Max.
