Keith Wymer passed away on Friday Dec. 18, 2009.
He was born Oct. 13, 1917, in rural Seymour. Keith was the son of Hiram and Susie (Johnson) Wymer. On June 1, 1939, he was united in marriage to Carrie DeVore.
He worked for many years at Flynn Dairy as a mechanic. He was an avid music enthusiast and guitarist. He loved shearing sheep, NASCAR, his garden, old dogs and guitars. He will be remembered for all the songs he sang and played on his guitars.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Katherine and wife Carrie.
He is survived by sons Larry Wymer of West Des Moines; Jerry Wymer and wife Sharon of West Linn, Ore.; William Wymer and wife Connie of Spirit Lake; Joseph Wymer of Winterset and Don Wymer of Lake Havasu, Ariz.; daughters Carolyn Twogood and husband Dennis of Des Moines; Kay Kiral and husband Bob of Denton, Texas; Connie Crane of Clive; Phyllis Whitmer and husband Wayne of Perry and Jayne Darner and husband Raymond of Clive; 36 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Dec. 21 at the Promise City Community Center.
Burial followed the services in the Jones Cemetery in rural Promise City.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in care of Johnson Family Funeral Home, 123 NE Second Street, Stuart, Iowa 50250.
