Mrs. B. M. Maynard, eighty-six years old, passed away at the home of her daughter Mrs. G. W. Moseley, 122 Blondeau street, at 9:30 o'clock this morning. Mrs. Maynard had been residing with her daughter during the past seven years and had made many dear friends here who will be grieved to hear of her death.
The decedent had been in poor health for several years and death was caused by the infirmaties of old age, combined with a recent attack of the grip. Mrs. Maynard suffered a paralytic stroke last July, but had recovered. This had so weakened her system, however, that during the last several months she was confined to her bed.
Mrs. Maynard was born in Stubbinville, Ohio, on Oct. 18, 1829. Her girlhood was spent in that state. The decendent's maiden name was Mary Ann Beckley and she was married to B. M. Maynard on Jan. 19, 1847.
Mr. and Mrs. Maynard moved to Iowa in the year 1857, location near Hillsboro. In 1872 they removed to Clark county, Mo., and lived there until seven years ago when they came to Keokuk to reside with their daughter, Mrs. Moseley. Mr. Maynard died here two years ago last December, mourned by a large circle of friends and acquaintances.
Mrs. Maynard joined the Christian church when a girl and had always been a loyal and devoted church woman. Mrs. Moseley is the only survivor of four children. There are ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. The grandchildren who live in Keokuk are Mrs. A. J. Woolley, Mrs. E. H. Leake and Miss Marie Moseley.
The decedent was of a quiet, homeloving disposition and gained the love and esteem of all of her acquaintances through her many virtues.

FUNERAL RECORD
The funeral of the late Mrs. B. M. Maynard was held from the home of her daughter, Mrs. G. W. Moseley, 122 Blondeau street, at 4 o'clock this afternoon. The services were conducted by Rev. Mr. McArthur of Hamilton, and burial was made in Oakland cemetery. The body bearers were G. W. Smith, L. D. Davidson, H. H. VanAusdall, J. F. Peterson, Charles Altes and J. W. Talley.
