Contributor: sandy gann (51088928)Mrs Mary Carpenter died last Friday morning at 2:15 o'clock, at the residence of her daughter, Mrs J H Dugger, on South Main Street, in the 81st year of her age. The funeral services were held at the residence Saturday morning at 10 o'clock by Revs W A Provine and D T Waynick, and the remains were interred in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs Carpenter had been a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church for more than sixty years; her life was an honorable Christian career, and she died ripe in years, rich in good deeds, and ready for the reward which God has promised to those who are faithful to the end. Only one of her children, Mrs Dugger, survives her. She was the mother of the late J E R Carpenter and W H Carpenter.
