Aeschlimann, Mrs. John (Alice Louise)
MONROE/MONTICELLO — Mrs. John (Alice Louise) Aeschlimann, age 75, of 711 Fourteenth Avenue in Monroe died on Saturday, June 25, 1983, at Pleasant View Nursing Home.
Born on July 21, 1907 in Iowa County, Wisconsin, she was the former Alice L. Rlkli and was married on September 6, 1927 at Barneveld to John R. Aeschlimann.
They resided in the Argyle and Clarno areas where Mr. Aeschlimann was a cheesemaker. After 1945 they purchased a farm in Mount Pleasant Township. They later moved to a farm in Jefferson Township and retired to Monroe in 1970.
Survivors are her husband, John of Monroe; three daughters, Mrs. Frederick (Hulda) Rieder of Monticello, Mrs. Evelyn Babler of Janesville, and Pearl Aeschlimann of Mt. Horeb; a son, John A. of Albany; two brothers, Edward and Herman Rikli, Dodgeville; a sister, Mrs. Lena Amherdt of Oregon; eleven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth in 1977; a granddaughter, Jane Riederin 1965; two sisters, Mrs. Lydia Wenger and one in infancy; and four brothers, John, Ernest, Arthur, and Frederick.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday, June 29, at 11 a.m. at the ZWINGLI UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST where she was a member. The Reverend Steve Pedersen will officiate. Interment will be in the Highland Cemetery in Monticello. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28, at the ZWINGLI MEMORIAL CHURCH LOUNGE at 426 East Lake Avenue in Monticello.
