GALLUP – Funeral services for Thomas Milo Bennett, 21, of Fort Defiance, will be held Saturday, Aug. 10, at 10 a.m. at the Gallup LDS Stake Center. Bishop Gene Martinez will officiate. Burial will follow at the Sunset Memorial Park in Gallup.

Thomas was born June 29, 1992, in Fort Defiance, into the Tl'ógi (Weaver-Zia) Clan, born for Dibélzhini (Black Sheep) Clan. He died Aug. 3 2013, in Casper, Wyo.

Thomas graduated from Window Rock High School in May 2010 and attended Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute in Albuquerque. He was employed with various Navajo Nation offices and Denny's in St. Michaels, Ariz. He enjoyed the company of his friends and family and excelled in graphic arts and computer technology. His hobbies included fishing with his father and X-box tournaments with his friends.

Thomas is survived by his parents, Darrell and Lavern Bennett; brother, Brandon Bennett; sisters, Rochelle Rivera and Raini Bennett; maternal grandparents, Willard and Annie Parker; and paternal grandparents, Sam and Aileen Begaye.

Thomas is preceded in death by Lafie N. Bennett and Barbara Ann Norris.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Bennett, Adam Parker, Eric Billy, Uriah and Isaiah Wauneka, and Roman Cooke.

Honorary pallbearers will be Floyd Parker, Wade Parker, Raymond Parker, Mike Bennett, Rob Bennett, Anthony Ashley, Keith Toddy, Travis and Joe Wauneka, and Tommy Bennett.

A reception will be held at the Gallup LDS Stake Center following services.

Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
