Ted Ray Bowman, 55, of Ararat Highway, Ararat, died Saturday, August 23, 2008, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. He was born November 25, 1952 in Patrick County, the ninth of 11 children born to the late Kermit & Clara Alice Marshall Bowman. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, McKinley Bowman, R.M. Bowman, and Paul Bowman. He was a Patrick County school bus driver, a beef cattle farmer, and was employed at Hall's Plants. Bowman was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Claudville. Surviving are his wife, Pamela Clement Bowman of the home; two sons, Chadwick Bowman of Forest and Derrick Bowman of Ararat; two grandchildren; three sisters, Velda Marshall and Carlene Cain, both of Ararat, and Lucille Hooker of Stoneville, NC; four brothers, Gray Bowman, Tim Bowman, and Ricky Bowman, all of Ararat, Harold Bowman of Cana; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service were held Tuesday at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, NC. Dr. Jerry Whitlow and the Revs. Barry Clement and Homer Bowman officiated. Burial was in the Clement cemetery.
