Christopher Eldon King-Degreif

Christopher Eldon (King) DeGreif, 23, died Saturday, June 19, 1999, in Peoples Memorial Hospital, Independence, of injuries from a train accident west of Winthrop.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Fawcett Funeral Home, Winthrop, by the Rev. H. William Arms. Burial: Fairview Cemetery, Winthrop.

Survivors include wife, children and his "parents": Leslie(step-father) and Evelyn King.

Gravestone reflects his love of the outdoors. Step-father, Les KING, commented to the C R Gazette: "...DeGreif had lived alone in the mountains of Washington state for about one year and returned home a couple of months ago. He always loved the outdoors,".

Gary E BRADLEY died in same accident. "They(Christopher & Gary) were like brothers - the best of friends," said Les King of Independence(told to C R Gazette), DeGreif's stepfather who had raised him since he was 2. "You seen one, you seen the other."

Les KING said at the time that the family planned to erect two wooden crosses by the railroad tracks where they were killed.
