Edith E. Darrington, 84, of Greeley died Tuesday, Feb. 22, at Hospice and Palliative Care of Northern Colorado inpatient unit, Greeley. She was born Nov. 28, 1920, in Colorado Springs to Clarence T. and Gracie Elizabeth (Capps) Bishop. On June 25, 1939, she married Donald George Darrington in Colorado Springs. He is deceased. Mrs. Darrington was a resident of Greeley for several years and a native of Colorado. She was the granddaughter of a pioneer family of Colorado. She was a caretaker for family and friends for many years. She loved to travel and to be outdoors. She enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing, reading and spending time with her family. Survivors are three daughters, Phoebe Worley of Longmont, Donna Lightburn and husband Charles of Cañon City and Judy Rogers of Littleton; a son, Larry Darrington and wife Ruby of Greeley; a sister-in-law, Marjorie J. Darrington of Wauneta, Neb.; a brother, Claude Daniel Bishop and wife Jean of Colorado Springs; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Her parents and three brothers, Samuel Phineas, Lloyd Neff and Kenneth Oneil Bishop, are deceased. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Stoddard Funeral Home. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Greeley. Friends may visit from 1-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Edith E. Darrington Memorial Fund in care of Stoddard Funeral Home, 3205 28th St., Greeley, CO 80634.
