Robert Edward was born on June 6, 1931. He was the third son of Blanche and
Alfonso Torregrossa. His siblings were:

Alfred Anthony Torregrossa
Frank
Jesse Torregrossa
.

Maureen Torregrossa Malinowski
.

Robert was the quiet and thoughtful child in a household where lively
conversation and entertaining guests in a gracious
fashion was a way of life. In his teens he showed great talent in photography.
His parents set up a dark room in the basement of their two family house where
he developed the photos he took at school and sporting events. As his skills in
photography blossomed so did Robert's participation in family discussions and
events.

His interest in sports and photography played an important part in Robert's life
as he matured. He became an expert golfer and member of the Dyker Beach Golf
Club. Robert's astute eye for line, color and proportion, as well as his
technical knowledge about cameras, helped him rise to the position of Sales
Manager at Willoughby Peerless Camera Store. He was an excellent salesman and
could make the perfect recommendation for the type of camera a customer was
looking for.

In the mid-1950s he married Marietta Castaldo. Robert and Marietta knew each
other from commuting to work on the same train every day. After their marriage
they lived in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn, New York.

Robert left this world too soon in July, 1977. His family, siblings, nieces and
nephews were greatly saddened by the loss. The wake was held at Andrew
Torregrossa and Sons, Brooklyn, New York and a mass was offered at Our Lady of
Guadalupe Church.

At the time of his passing Robert was survived by his wife Marietta, sons
Robert, Jr. and Kenneth, his mother Blanche, his brothers, sisters and nieces
and nephews of the Torregrossa family.
