Albert Gurnee, one of the oldest residents of the town of Watertown and a highly respected farmer, died last night at his home on Ives street, just outside of the city limits, aged 82 years.

With the exception of four years that he spent in this city, Mr. Gurnee had lived for 80 years on the farm where he died. He was a descendant of Puritan ancestry, and his grandfather was a soldier in the revolution and his father in the war of 1812. In addition to his farming Mr. Gurnee was a number of years ago, an extensive dealer in grain and was also engaged in the real estate business in this city, where he owned much poverty. He was also connected in a business way with the Thousand Island Park association.

Mr. Gurnee was one of the charter members of the old Methodist church, which was located at the corner of Arsenal and Massey streets, and later has been affiliated with the Arsenal street M.E. church. He was a member of the town board and a justice of the peace of the town of Watertown for over 20 years.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ella Gurnee Randall of Chicago, and a son, Albert E. Gurnee of Pueblo, Col., both of whom were with him at the time of his death, also a sister, Mrs. J. D. Fonda of New York; a grandson, B.G. Randall of New Mexico, and a granddaughter, Mrs. Harriette Randall of Chicago.

The funeral will be held from the late home of the deceased tomorrow afternoon at 3 and the interment will be in Brookside cemetery.
