The death of Mrs. Ida Mae Barnes, age 95 years of South Allan, Saskatchewan, occurred in Saskatoon on Saturday, January 22, 1966. The funeral service will be held from the Hanley United Church. Saskatoon Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements. For further particulars phone 244-5577. Surviving are: four sons: Wes of Hanley; Everett and Vergil of South Allan, and Marshall of Sound Bend, Washington, U.S.A.; three daughters, Mrs. Pearl Peek of Hanley; Mrs. Les Newton (Kay) of Vancouver, B. C. and Mrs. Walter Eckford (Mae) of Nanaimo, B. C.; also 18 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. Mrs. Barnes was born in Jerico Springs, Missouri, U.S.A. She came to Canada 56 years ago and homesteaded with her husband in the South Allan area where she had lived since. Mrs. Barnes was predeceased by a daughter, Georgie and a son Arthur some years ago. Her husband John predeceased her in 1947. Interment will take place in the Hanley Cemetery.
