MRS. ALVA BEHRENDS
MONTICELLO...Funeral services for Mrs. Alva Behrends, 66, were held Tuesday afternoon, June 6, at St. Matthew Lutheran church. The Rev. Anton Kirkegaard conducted the services. Interment was in Oakwood cemetery.
Mrs. Behrends died suddenly at her home Saturday afternoon, June 3. She was born C. Lucille Bradbrook April 7, 1901, at West Branch, the daughter of Walter H. and Elizabeth Bachman Bradbrook. She received her education in Van Horne and Windom, Minn.
She was employed as a telephone operator for a few years, prior to her marriage to Alva Behrends April 29, 1925. The couple had always lived in Monticello. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran church and the Monticello Garden club.
She was preceded in death by a son, Clifford, in 1935, her parents, and a sister, Mrs. Marie Behrends.
Survivors include her husband, one son, Karl of Iowa Falls and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Robert First, Harvey Hinrichs, Lyle Behrends, Norman Hinrichs, Loren Freese and Milred Claus.
