He was born May 6, 1909, to James and Josie Robbins in San Saba County, Texas. He was a retired Church of Christ minister who began preaching in several small San Saba County communities. In 1930, he married Iva Conley and began preaching for the Church of Christ in Kerrville. He served as the preacher for the Church of Christ in Crosbyton, Kellerville, Memphis, Ballinger, Brownwood, Eden, Menard, Abilene, and Lawn. He lived in Abilene from 1954 to 2000 before moving to Lamesa. While in Abilene he also worked for the Christian Chronicle, was a co-owner of Quality Printing, and worked in the Student Center at Abilene Christian University.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Iva; a son; a daughter; a sister; and a brother.
He is survived by his wife, Mable Robbins of Lamesa; daughter, Betty Fowler of Midland; son, Curtis Robbins of Oglesby; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
