Hiram White, sr was my gr gr gr grandfather. His parents were Agatha Gibbs White, buried at Antioch Methodist Cemetery on Fair Forest Creek in Glenn Springs, Spartanburg Co, SC. The unmarked stone next to her is believed to be that of her husband John W. White, my 4th great grandfather.

Three of Hiram's four sons died in Civil War:
1. Pvt. William White, Co. K, Palmetto SharpShooters; 1862 if Dyptheria. Buried in Hollywood Cemtery.
2 Lt. john Warren White, Co. K, Palmetto Sharpshooters, died of wounds from Petersburg, died in 1864. Grave site unknown.
3. Rufus Belton White, died of wunds at Frayser's Farm, 1862. Grave site unkown.
4. Pvt. Hiram White, Jr, who stayed in Co. K, 5th SC Vols, died in Antietum Campaign, 1862. Grave site unknown.
5. Jasper "Jack" White only son to survive the war. Not sure he served, but it is known that he was with John Warren White when he died.

I have my white line back to early 1700s and down to me, with all the kids, dates and where many migrated to. All graciously shared with my grandmother by Mrs. R.L. Brooks (Delia White, granddaughter of William White who died i 1862) of Glenn Sprngs, SC in 1976. She died sometime after that. God rest her soul. I will be gladto share. my email is [email protected]
