1919 - 2013
Claudine Tillotson passed away Sunday afternoon, August 4, 2013 at River Bend Hospital in Springfield, Oregon, surrounded by her family. Claudine was born October 6, 1919 in Concordia, Kansas to Claude and Nettie Hardman. She moved to Oregon with her family at age 17. She married her husband, Bob Tillotson, in Vancouver, Washington on May 7, 1938. He died on May 26, 1994. Bob and Claudine moved to Oakridge, Oregon in January of 1942 after Bob was transferred there with the Oregon State Police. They eventually started an automobile dealership in Oakridge. Claudine lived in Oakridge for 55 years before moving to Springfield to be closer to her daughter.
Claudine loved to read, garden, can, sew and do word puzzles. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren especially during the Christmas holidays.
Claudine is survived by one son, Bob Tillotson (Claudia) of Grants Pass, OR; and two daughters: Rita (Ed) Darnielle of Woodinville, WA and Beverly (Bill) Allen of Springfield, OR; and a sister, Patsy Swearingen of La Center, WA. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Shirley in 1944 and a son, Patrick in 1991.
Thank you, mom, for giving us a wonderful role model and great work ethic. We grieve your passing, celebrate your life and are so thankful for the time we have been able to spend with you.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Oakridge Chapel of the Woods with a private burial at Forestvale Memorial Park in Oakridge.
