Mrs. Patsy Wright, 89 years of age, was killed in a house fire at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E.W. Southworth, at Long Lick. She was alone at the time, her daughter having gone to her husband's shop a short distance from the house. Mrs. Southworth seeing the house in flames rushed in to save her mother. Mr. J.W. Covington, who was passing, hastened to Mrs. Southworth's assistance. After groping in the smoke they were forced to leave the burning house, both being badly scorched. The house was a total loss. Mrs. Wright's body was found in the ruins. Deceased was the widow of Samuel Wright, who died several years ago. The following children survive: Mrs. Betty Perry, Louisville, Ed and Joel Wright and Mrs. Nancy Jane Southworth, all of Scott County. The funeral was held at Long Lick Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Elmer Lucas. The burial was in the Georgetown Cemetery.
