Eddie Mae (Nollie) Gist, of 107-A Cogdill Plaza, widow of A.C. Gist, died Jan. 8, 2003 in Magnolia Manor Nursing Home in Spartanburg. Mrs. Gist was born in York County, a daughter of the late Deacon James and Janie Foster Goode. She was a member of New Emmanuel Chapel Baptist Church and retired from Ellen Sagar Nursing Home.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Barbara Smith Goode of Union; a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Jean and Lynwood Wannamaker of Spartanburg; two sisters, Jennie Henderson of Union and Marie Goode Battle of New York; two brothers, Emzie Goode of Jonesville and Elzie Goode of Union; 13 grandchildren, Jennifer Wicker and Donna Goode of Union, Rose M. Goode of Virginia, Tracy Thomas of Gaffney, Eddie R., Randy and Ronnie Owens of Union, Jessica Brannon of Union, Veronica Brannon, Donavon, Jamie, Jessie Jr. and Christopher Brannon all of Jonesville; 22 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Gist was predeceased by a daughter, Doreatha Owens.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at New Emmanuel Chapel Baptist Church by the Rev. Fred K. Murray. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Public viewing will be Saturday from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Sunday to await the hour of service.

The family will be at the home of her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Elzie Goode, 225 Vaughn Road, Union. Union Community Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
