Helen L. Anderson, the daughter of Charles and Helena (Wolff) Vogel was born on November 6, 1918 in Howard Lake, MN. She was baptized on December 15, 1918 by Pastor A.L. Odtjen and graduated from Howard Lake High School in 1936. On September 28, 1940, she was united in marriage to Harry Anderson in the Presbyterian Church Parsonage in Howard Lake, MN. They farmed in Greenleaf Township in Meeker County until Harry's death on October 24, 1981. She remained on the farm until she moved to Litchfield in December of 2010. Helen became a member of Beckville Lutheran Church in 1941, where she was active in WELCA and served as a church board member for 5 terms. She was also active in caring for the Beckville Picnic Grounds at Lake Minnie Belle for many years. She loved to travel and enjoyed gardening and yard work.
Helen is survived by her special nieces, Joann Lindstrom of Litchfield and Jean Brown of new Brighton, nephews Kevin Snyder of Litchfield, MN and James L Johnson of Litchfield; many other nieces and nephews, several cousins, two adoptive granddaughters, Carol Lee of St. Joseph and Sandy Dougherty of Litchfield; plus all the neighbor children that visited and brightened her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Harry in 1981; and sister Evelyn Snyder in 1999.
