Virginia Ruth Waters, 86, passed away Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013. Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Greenwood Funeral Home. Virginia was born Jan. 16, 1927, in Dallas. She was a member of Rosen Heights Baptist Church and in the Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years. Throughout her young life she moved around Texas. She moved to Fort Worth as a teenager and graduated from Arlington Heights High School in 1943. On Jan. 22, 1944, she married Travis Eugene Waters, while two of her sisters eventually married two of his brothers. Several years ago the Star-Telegram wrote an article about these brothers and sisters and the unique bond they shared. Virginia and Travis were married 69 1/2 years. She and her family have lived in Fort Worth for the past 54 years. Virginia and her husband were in the jewelry business starting in 1947 and retired in 1982. After retiring, Virginia and Travis focused on a more adventurous, less stressful life, traveling together, with family, and many lifelong friends. Her faith in The Lord was with her throughout her journeys. She gave all those that knew her many blessings and such wonderful memories. She was a one-of-a-kind, beautiful wife, a loving mother, a beloved caring sister and a very special grandmother. Her smile would light up a room and she had a kind and generous heart for anyone who welcomed her love. Always loved, she will be greatly missed. A special thank-you to Margie, Laura, Kim and Holly for the amazing care you gave to our "Special Lady" in her hour of need.--On behalf of all the Waters family.
