Myrl G. Williams, 98, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008, at Wheatridge Park Care Center. He was born Aug. 6, 1909, to William Wilburn and Signora (Williams) Williams in Gustine, Texas. He married Georgia Headrick Hill Aug. 13, 1961. She died April 26, 2005. He attended rural schools in Erath County Texas and graduated from Stephenville High School, Stephenville, Texas. He worked with the civil service at the Liberal Army Airfield. He worked as Machine Operator for Northern Natural Gas Co., retiring in 1974. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a former member of Liberal Noon Lions Club, both of Liberal. His hobbies include fishing, playing dominos, checkers and cards. He is survived by one son, Kenneth Dale Williams and wife, Nancy, Great Bend; one stepson, Delbert Hill and wife, Joyce, Topeka; two stepdaughters, Mary Downs and husband, Richard, Liberal, and Winifred Kiddoo and husband, Charles, Henderson, Nev.; 12 grandchildren, Julie Foster, Greg Downs, Debbie Eshbaugh, Kurt Williams, Karl Williams, Rebecca Ford, Susan Hankin, Gina Langdale, Matt Hill, Justin Kiddoo, Kelli Smith, and Kevin Downs; 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. He was also preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ken Hathaway presiding. Burial will be at Liberal Cemetery.
