CHRISMAN – Joyce D. Chandler, 91, of Chrisman passed away on Monday (Sept. 30, 2013) at the Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Joines-Appleby Funeral Home in Newman. Pastor Peggy Emmert will officiate. Burial will be held in the Newman Cemetery in Newman. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Joyce was born Jan. 26, 1922, in Newman, a daughter of Ralph and Belva Boyer Dague. She married Fred Harold Chandler on March 22, 1946, in Homer. He preceded her in death on July 28, 1971. Joyce is also preceded by her parents, four brothers and two sisters.

Joyce was a farm wife and mother. She enjoyed reading and puzzle books, and she loved taking care of and helping others.

She was a former member of the Wesley Chapel Women's Club in Newman and a member of the Chrisman United Methodist Church in Chrisman.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Chrisman United Methodist Church.
