Mrs. Phyllis J. Brown, age 80 of Griffin, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2013.
Mrs. Brown was born in Griffin, Georgia on February 6, 1933. She is preceded in death by her parents, Luke and Nell Bass Stansell; sons, Tim Kent and Todd Blanton.
Mrs. Brown was a member of the East Griffin Baptist Church, retired from J.C. Penney's.
Survivors include her husband, Robert "Bob" Brown; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Wendell Tanklsey; son, Craig Phillips; stepchildren, Phyllis Terrell, Diane Peters and husband Donnie; several grandchildren, great grandchildren; brothers, Reverend Winfred Stansell and Harold Stansell; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Sunday, August 4, 2013 from 6:00 pm until 8:00pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, August 5, 2013 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery.
