Ruth A. Parsons, 81, formerly of Beckley, WV died Thursday December 9, 2004 at Wyngate Senior Living Community. She was born in Kanawha County a daughter of the late S. Jordan and Macel Ayer Ashley.

She worked for General Machinery, the West Virginia State Employment Office for over thirty years, and Whitehouse Interiors and Bear Realty both in Beckley. She was an active member of the Methodist Temple in Beckley, where she was active in the United Methodist Women, and attended Wayside United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Women's Club, Garden Club and was an active golfer at Black Night Country Club all in Beckley, WV.

She is survived by her husband Chancey D. Parsons; three brothers Wilson Ashley of Bridgeport, WV, Lewis Ashley of Arlington, VA, and Charles Ashley of California; several nieces and nephews including Pam Burgess of Bridgeport, and Debbie Harper of Vienna; and a sister-in-law Margaret Fuller of Vienna.

Memorial service will be held Saturday, December 18, 2004, at Wayside United Methodist Church with Reverend Joe Kenaston officiating. Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg has been entrusted with arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Methodist Temple in Beckley, WV.
