Cora May (Onley) Fultz was born June 8, 1874 to Benjamin and Mary (Calhoun) Onley in Georgetown,Illinois. Cora May and John Milton Fultz were married on March 18, 1893. John's nickname for Cora May was Code or Cody. Cora May had three siblings: a brother: William Onley (Maime Lewis,) and two sisters: Matilda (Uncle Milton,)Della May Clifton (James Clifton,)Cora May and her husband John were blessed with eight children: Myrtle Della, Benjamin Jacob (Deloris Roach,) Lola Maudest (Waldo Graf,)Daisy Ray (Carl Jackson,)James Leo (Carmie Smith,)Clara Belle (McCance,)Mary "Nina" (Roy L. Fisher) and Donna Virginia (who died of an appendectomy at age 12.)Cora May and John had a hog farm outside Cayuga,Indiana. In later years they moved into a house in Cayuga. Cora May was a wonderful cook. She would rise up early in the morning and prepare pies for the family meals. She maintained a large vegetable garden and canned many vegetables for the family's winter table. Cora May handmade beautiful quilts and sewed clothing for her family. She was Christian woman, and a member of the Christian Church in Cayuga Indiana, and the United Brethren Church. Cora May died on December 5th from complications after having her gall bladder removed. She was buried on December 7th, 1941 (Pearl Harbor Day.) Her grandson, Charlie Graf, remembers listening to the news about Pearl Harbor on the car radio, on their drive home from Grandma's funeral. She had sixteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
